Today I’m going to share with you my recipe for a light version of béchamel sauce. It has perfect creamy texture and delicate taste. You have to try it!
500 ml mleka/ milk
50g masła/ butter
3 łyżki mąki/ 3 tbsp plain flour
1 szalotka/ scallion
2 ząbki czosnku/ cloves of garlic
2 liście laurowe/ bay leaves
3 ziela anglieskie/ pimento
gałka muszkatołowa/ nutmeg
sól i pieprz/ salt and pepper
Start with bringing to a boil the milk with the scallion, garlic and spices, over the very small heat. Add the salt and pepper as well as the freshly grated nutmeg.
In the meanwhile, warm up the flour. Over the small heat warm it up for a few minutes. Thanks to this, you will prevent creating lumps in your béchamel sauce.
Melt the butter into a small casserole. Add the flour. Keep it over a small flame, stir continuously till becomes completely smooth.
Remove the onion, garlic and the spices. Then, add the butter with the flour and cook it over a small flame till becomes tick. Keep stirring.
